This is what happens when you get busy and lazy and forgetful.
Things that have happened in reverse order:
1. TSHIRTS! We have them and they are awesome. Two colors, YL S M L. Honey and Jade Green. The design is up on our myspace page. e-mail merch@hotboxboston.com to order. $10 a piece or you can get them at our next show!
2. BUTTONS & STICKERS! New designs to match the shirts and the same out HOT BOX but in new bright summer colors! Stickers with the marilyn design are coming too.
3. First HOT BOX WEEKEND. "We're on tour" "what?" "Last night was the first night in New York and now this is the last night in Philly" (onstage @ the 941 theater).
- If only all of tour will be like this weekend. Friday we played with June Morris, Quiet Loudly and Bridget & the Squares @ Hank's Saloon. I wanted to get in here before it closed but contrary to popular or not so popular belief it is actually just going through renovations and not closing permanently. Crashed in Fort Glassman early while Sara from House on a Hill kept the rest of the gang out until 4 am drinking jager at this sweet dive across from Bill's loft. (Why always jager?!)
- Next day we drove down to philly to meet up with my parents. Had an awesome dinner, got out selves situated at the house and headed downtown. The 941 theater is in the northern liberties which I wasn't very familiar with and stuck between row homes on a back street. Inside it was pretty nice, not the ideal place to have a band playing what with the concrete floors and walls and all, but everyone was nice and there was free beer and diy art. We were very happy to be apart of the 10th Big Art Show. Danielle and Eric both scored some sweet shirts, earrings, prints etc.
4. FRANKLIN BASEMENT
- Our first show, somehow?, was with Horsehands (really awesome new band from Boston who we can't wait to play with again), House on a Hill (from NYC, love love love these guys, you can see us with them June 7th @ the Lit Lounge), Often Airborne (Barry, Kurt, Bryan and Eric D) this was actually my first time seeing them play, I've heard Barry (once) at open mic solo but it was nice to see them all together, and lastly our friends in Abolition Band. This was originally going to be the re-schedule of the Jacques Cabaret show that never got off the ground but only Abolition Band could do it. Oh well, it was as always nice to play with them. Everyone seemed to have a great time.
